Erma Lucienne (Nastasi) Favero

   Erma Lucienne Favero (née: Nastasi) passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the Crowsnest Pass Health Center, Continuing Care, Blairmore, Alberta.

   Erma was born and raised in Passburg (Crowsnest Pass), Alberta and lived there until the family home was moved to Bellevue in 1956.  She married Sil Favero in 1967 and they continued to live in the family home until after Sil passed away.  She later moved into the York Creek Lodge and after spending several years there moved into CNP Continuing Care and was there until her passing.

   In the passing of Erma, we have lost an amazing woman, a beautiful spirit, and a selfless person who in addition to working took on the care of aging parents and baby niece Shirley. For years she tirelessly volunteered at the Bellevue Library helping patrons and reading stories to children and yes, changing her voice to match the characters.  The Bellecrest Seniors group benefited from her volunteer spirit for bake sales, lunches, teas, fundraisers and community dinners at Maplevue Hall.  During the raging forest fires that surrounded Bellevue, Hillcrest and Blairmore in 2003 she was one of many volunteers who cooked and served meals to the volunteer firefighters and displaced families.

   Erma worked at the very first Pass Dairy beginning as a bottle washer before taking on bookkeeping and administrative duties. During her tenure the dairy was purchased by Joe Fauville and later moved to today’s Bellevue main street where Erma continued to perform her duties until the dairy was sold.  She then worked in the office of Atlas Lumber, west of Coleman, until she retired.

   Erma is survived by nieces Shirley Toth (Ernie), children Brad (Deb), Heather (Les);  Marlene Anctil (Garry), children Shawn (Corrina), Chad (Jolie); Joyce Nastasi, children Darren (Glenda); Mary Wright, children Jim, Sandra, Carol, Candice, Brenda and David; Eleanor Collopy, children Rick, Barry and Rob;  step-children Toni Nissen (Kurt), children Poppy and Kyle; Rena Cornish (Rod), children Joel and Jerret; Mike Favero (Eleanor), children Terrance, Christopher and Gina; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews.

   She was predeceased by her husband Sil Favero; parents Eleanor and Guiseppe “Joe” Nastasi; brothers Sebastian (Buster) and Leonard; and sisters Georgina, Eva and Celine.

  Our special thanks to Erma’s doctors and all the CNP Continuing Care nursing staff for the care, compassion and love shown Erma during her years there.
