ELMA LUCILLE JESSOP

(Née: Barr, formerly Trowbridge)

   Elma passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at the age of 92, with family by her side at the Crowsnest Continuing Care Centre in Blairmore, Alberta.

   Elma was born and raised in Ardenville, Alberta, the third child of Victor and Sophia (Kyllo) Barr.  She fell in love with Ray Trowbridge and married him on January 17, 1948.  They raised five children while living on their farm/ranch south of Fort Macleod, Alberta.  Elma worked tirelessly alongside Ray as a farmer’s wife and a mother, gardening, cooking, sewing, and keeping the home for their family.

   Elma’s great loves were her family, horses, her friends and neighbors, many cats and dogs, and for years painting mountain landscapes. 

   Elma is survived by her four children, Keith Trowbridge, Cathy Trowbridge, Adele Heisler and Marvin Trowbridge, as well as seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Elma is also survived by David Jessop whom she married in 1993. 

   Elma is predeceased by her siblings, Evelyn, Lloyd, Blair, Norman and Merna. She is also predeceased by her daughter, Patrena and her husband of forty years, Ray Trowbridge.

   A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
