It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edward James “Jimmy” Moore on October 28, 2025, at the age of 81, in Blairmore, AB.
Born on January 4, 1944, in Medicine Hat, AB, Jimmy was the youngest child of Henry and Lillian Moore. He grew up in Alberta and, throughout his life, worked in various occupations, but it was his lifelong passion for horses that truly defined him. Jimmy spent many years working on racetracks across Canada, from the East Coast to the West Coast, where his knowledge and dedication earned him the respect of all who knew him.
In addition to his work with horses, Jimmy had several other interests, including coin collecting and watching movies. He had a great fondness and respect for The Salvation Army – he grew up there with his siblings, as well as for the Catholic Church. Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, and a life well-lived. He will be remembered with love and respect by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life is his sister, Hazel Wade; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Henry Moore; his older brother, David Moore; and his older sister, Lillian Davidson
A private graveside service will be held in Medicine Hat, AB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Parish Building Fund (PO Box 1410 Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0). Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
