   It is with heavy hearts and dismay that we announce the sudden passing of Cherise Gilchrist of Bellevue, Alberta who succumbed to acute health issues on November 2, 2023 at the tender age of 40 years.

   Cherise was born on December 11, 1982 in Surrey, BC and blossomed into a lovely young lady full of talent, kindness and generosity.  She brightened every room with her laugh, her charisma and spontaneous energy.  She was hardworking and dedicated to her job as an assistant blaster at a coal mine and was a member of the Steel Workers’ Local Union.  Cherise loved singing, dancing, golfing, baking, campfires and her little furry friends Barnabas and Whiskey, but her ultimate blessing was her cherished children and beloved companion and soul mate, Darren.

   Cherise’s passing has left us shattered and sorrowful but her life was a gift to us all and we will forever keep her fondly in our hearts and minds.

   She leaves to mourn her children, James and Sienna Curtis, Jaxson, Harmony and Julian Turner; her mother, Sharmaine Gilchrist; her uncle, Tony; her cousins, Roxanne and Todd Pruden; her former husbands, Dan Turner and James Curtis Sr; and most especially, her companion, Darren Peacey.

   A service celebrating the life of the late Cherise Gilchrist will be held at Fantin’s Funeral Chapel (13461-20th Ave), Blairmore, Alberta on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 12 noon.  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
