Camilla "Cam" Anna (Porochnuk) Kovach

   With deep love and gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Camilla Anna Kovach, who died peacefully on April 28, 2025, at the age of 95.

   Born on June 1, 1929, to Marie and Nikolai Porochnuk, Camilla grew up with a vibrant spirit and a passion for music, community, and family. She married the love of her life, George Paul Kovach, on November 1, 1958, and together they built a life rooted in love and shared joys.

   Camilla was a proud member of the Crowsnest Pass Symphony Orchestra, where her love of music found expression among friends and fellow musicians. She also cherished her time at the Crowsnest Pass Golf & Country Club and was a devoted member of the Catholic Church, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life.

   She had a long and respected career at Coleman Collieries, where she was known for her dedication. At home, Camilla was happiest entertaining guests, cooking hearty meals, tending her garden, and doting on her beloved family—especially her daughter, Sheila, whom she adored.  Among her many joys, her dog Charley held a special place in her heart.

   Camilla’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and grace. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her beautiful music, and her unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

   Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her nephews, William, Walter, Jeffery and Taras Porochnuk; her son-law, Italo Sartorio; her extended family; and many friends.

   She was predeceased by her husband, George Kovach; her parents, Marie and Nikolai Porochnuk; her daughter, Sheila Sartorio; her sister, Cecilia and brother-in-law, Walter Frache; and her brother, William N. and sister-in-law, Alice Porochnuk.

   A Funeral Service will be held at Fantin’s Funeral Chapel (13461 – 20 Ave., Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0) on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 2:00pm with Fr. Joseph Nagothu officiating.  Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Crowsnest Pass Symphony Orchestra (PO Box 567 Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
