Bernadette "Cookie" Ballak

   It is with deep sadness that the family of Bernadette Ballak announces her passing on May 14, 2026, at the age of 59.

   Bernadette will be remembered for her caring spirit, her love of nature, and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. She had a special love for her dogs, Jellybean, Chevy, and Dash, who were treasured companions throughout her life. She also found peace and happiness in plants and gardening, creating beauty wherever she lived with her gentle touch and dedication.

   Left to mourn her loss and celebrate her life is her partner, Stan Ross; her brother, Troy Ballak (Sherri Gleave); and her nephew, Ethan Ballak. Bernadette shared a close bond with her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

   Bernadette was predeceased by her father, Roger Ballak and her mother, Karen Ballak.

   Bernadette’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, in blooming gardens, and in the unconditional love of the animals she adored.

   A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life. In loving memory of Bernadette, the family asks that any memorial contributions be made to your local SPCA or animal rescue group.  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
