With broken hearts we announce that Benjamin Van Loon passed away in Brandon, MB on October 4, 2024. He was only 43 years of age.
Ben was a very active person who had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed cooking, drawing, woodworking, fishing and working on vehicles. He loved the years he spent working with his family organizing and presenting the Crowsnest Pass Rodeo, and as a member of the Alberta Sasquatch Organization, he was always on the lookout for Bigfoot. As much as he liked these things, nothing brought Ben more joy than spending time with his family – especially his children. May precious memories bring comfort to all who knew him.
Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life is his mother, Theresa Van Loon; his children, Kaydence Bowles and Liam Favero Van Loon; his sister, Leanne Van Loon; his niece, Lydia Van Loon; his extended family and many friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Lee Van Loon; his grandparents, Charles and Patricia Meadows and Edith and Buddy Van Loon; as well as many aunties and uncles.
With respect for Ben’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Crowsnest Pass SPCA (PO Box 725 Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0). Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
