GARRY LORENZ
(1947-2018)
Mr. Garry Dennis Lorenz of Coleman, Alberta was called to be with our Lord on March 11, 2018 at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta at the age of 71 years. He lived a full life without any regrets. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
Garry was born on January 30, 1947 in Drumheller, Alberta. He was raised, along with his two brothers, by his parents Joseph and Elizabeth Lorenz to appreciate family, friends and community. He was a social individual who thrived on spending time with friends and family. Holiday banquets in Lethbridge, a cup of coffee with friends, golfing and winning poker games could always make him smile. Garry was a proud member of the Coleman Legion, and he enjoyed western movies, rodeos and horse shows, but he truly loved spoiling his great nephews. Garry was quite a connoisseur of food and loved sampling the best that each Pass restaurant had to offer. Although he was hard to please, he earned the endearing nickname “Tubs” by his closest friends. Garry recognized that life is a gift and he took the time to enjoy it. He was hardworking, devoted to his family and friends, kind to animals and quick to forgive – his passing has caused us great sadness, but his memory will fill our hearts with appreciation.
He is survived by his brother, Leonard (Julie) Lorenz of Lethbridge; his nieces, Kimberly White of Medicine Hat and Kristen (Carl) Scheuerman of Edmonton; his great nephews, Liam White and Nathan Scheuerman; his stray feline friend, Lookie; as well as his many friends that he made throughout his lifetime. He was predeceased by his cherished parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Lorenz and his beloved brother, Miles Lorenz.
The Memorial Service celebrating Garry’s wonderful life will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Fantin's Funeral Chapel in Blairmore (13461-20th Ave) with Rev. Renso Castellarin presiding.
