Albert Poxton Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Poxton on April 5, 2024 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre, Blairmore, AB.  He was 77 years of age.

Being born and raised in the Crowsnest Pass, AB, Albert developed a love of the outdoors, with some of his fondest memories being made while fishing, hunting and camping.  He also enjoyed watching western and army movies, and never passed up an opportunity to stop and have a conversation.  Whether it be doing his job operating heavy equipment for Drain Brothers Construction, or being involved as an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 19, Bellevue, Albert was a hard worker who could always be counted on.  Above all else, he was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family.  Albert will be remembered with love and respect.

Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life is his wife, Marion Poxton of Bellevue, AB; his daughters, Deanna Baillie (Michael Doucette) of Blairmore, AB and Karen Poxton of Hillcrest Mines, AB; his granddaughter, Katelyn Snow; his brother, Walter Poxton of Coleman, AB; his sisters, Gloria Brown of Edmonton, AB and Jean Waldner of Hillcrest Mines, AB; as well as his extended family and many friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Walter Poxton Sr.; his mother, Janka Gorup; his brother, Roy; and his sisters, Eleanor and Irene.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Crowsnest Pass Food Bank (PO Box 675 Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
