Robert "Bob" John Kubik

  It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Robert John Kubik of Blairmore, Alberta.  Robert was called to be with the Lord while enjoying his time at Lake Koocanusa, BC on June 10, 2017.  He was blessed with 78 years of a good life.

   Born on February 20, 1939 in Coleman, Alberta to parents, Joseph and Mary Kubik, Bob was raised during depressed economic times and from an early age learned the value of hard work and moderation.  Complaints and procrastination were not highly regarded. 

   Bob put his many talents to work and after graduating high school he became certified as an electrician gaining employment with the local coalmines.  He married Elenore D’Amico and was blessed with a family of five sons whom he nurtured and sacrificed his all for their happiness and success in life.  After an amicable parting with Elenore, Bob found love and understanding with an amazing and lovely lady, Debra Farano.  They pledged their devotion to one another for the past 25 years and he was further blessed with her two children to love and care for. 

   Bob loved working on the family farm. In his free time, he enjoyed hiking, skiing, golfing and curling.  He also loved dancing, socializing with friends and spending time with family.  He had a natural talent for drawing, painting and sculpting.  He was a proud twenty-year member of the Coleman Legion.

   Bob was an inspiration and role model to his family and friends.  He placed the needs of others before his own and would be the last to ask for assistance, but always the first to help.  He will be dearly missed and always fondly remembered.

  Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life is his beloved wife, Debra of Blairmore; his children, Shane (Karen) Kubik of Hillcrest, Billy-Jo (Rae) Kubik of Blairmore, Randy (Lesa) Kubik of Calgary, Ryan (Shelly) Kubik of Calgary, Robin (Angie) Kubik of Lethbridge, Christopher Farano of Victoria, BC and Erika (Morgan) Primrose of Bellevue; his grandchildren, Katelyn, Gareth, Reid, Conor, Korben, Devon, Kaden, Lauren, Reid, Robert, Dalaine and Riley; his great-grandchild, Jayden; his sister, Kathy Dzurk of Armstrong, BC; the mother of his five eldest children, Eleanor; as well as his extended family and many friends.

   He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Joe Kubik, and his brother, Bill (Joan) Kubik of Blairmore.

   A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Greenhill Hotel (12326-20 Ave., Blairmore).  Memorial donations may be directed to the CNP Health Foundation (P. O. Box 455, Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
