Welcome to the memorial page for

Pauline (Skooratoff) Zmaeff

January 10, 1929 ~ August 7, 2015 (age 86) 86 Years Old

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Pauline Zmaeff at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre on August 7, 2015 at the age of 86 years.

Pauline was born in Cowley, AB to proud parents Anastasia and Michael Skooratoff.  Along with her sisters, she was raised to be a generous and kind-hearted person.  Pauline grew into a lovely, confident young woman who captured the heart of a handsome gentleman, Nick Zmaeff.  On February 25, 1950, the happy couple was joined in marriage and was later blessed with three beautiful children.

Pauline enjoyed many hobbies and activities such as gardening, reading, and entertaining and cooking for her family and many friends.  In her younger days, she loved to go dancing and she tried her best to teach Nick to follow her lead!  She adored music throughout her entire life and singing brought her great joy.  Pauline was also a talented artist who created beautiful works with oil paint.  She loved animals, especially horses, as well as babies.  Her kindness and selflessness was evident in the devotion she displayed as a homecare worker and in the countless hours she spent working with seniors and volunteering in the community.  In addition to her involvement with the Pythian Sisters and S.P.C.A., Pauline served as president of the Coleman Seniors Drop-In Centre and was instrumental in its redesign and renovation.  She was passionate in her convictions and had strong opinions regarding politics.  Pauline had a genuine understanding of life and she firmly believed in looking at things from other people’s perspectives.  Her strength, intelligence and benevolence were an inspiration to all who knew her.  She will remain in our hearts forever.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her husband, Nick Zmaeff; her children, Norman Zmaeff, Lloyd (Fran) Zmaeff and Lorraine Reno; her grandchildren, Andrea (Rob), Michael (Amanda), Byron (Ashley) and Amanda; her great grandchildren, Madison, Mandy and Yorke; her sister, Anne Krystoff of Lethbridge, AB; numerous nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Anastasia and Michael Skooratoff and her sisters, Mable Kinakin and Mary Maloff.

With respect for Pauline’s final wishes, no services will be held.  Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Coleman Seniors Drop-In Centre (P.O. Box 175, Coleman, AB T0K 0M0).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
