Olga Sudworth of the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta was blessed with 95 years of life. On September 7, 2016, Olga peacefully passed away prepared for her heavenly journey. May she find rest and repose after a long and full life.
Olga was born on August 4, 1921 in Coleman, Alberta to parents John and Sophia Nimcan. She witnessed economic depression, the Second World War, the development of our country and the advances in technology and medicine. Throughout it all, she came to value the simpler joys in life and to appreciate acts of kindness amongst friends and family.
Olga married Thomas Sudworth and was blessed with four children whom she loved unconditionally. They continue to honor her legacy today with their children and grandchildren.
An amazing homemaker and kitchen worker for the local hospital, Olga provided for her family with patience and kindness, wonderful cooking and baking (especially her famous meat pies), and her never ceasing interest in all of their lives. She was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Royal Purple. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
She is survived by her children, Lynda (Don) Baker of Calgary, Arlene Yakubowski of Edmonton and David (Jackie) Sudworth of Coleman; her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family including her cherished sister, Rose Gettman of Coleman.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Sudworth; her daughter, Jacqueline MacInnis; her parents, John & Sophia Nimcan and her brothers, John and Bill Nimcan.
