Neysa (Godek) Comin

   Neysa Comin lived her life to the fullest with compassion and grace but on March 15, 2017 she was called to be with the Lord while at the Crowsnest Pass Continuing Care Centre in Blairmore, AB.  She was blessed with almost 102 years of life.

   Neysa was born in Hope, British Columbia on April 15, 1915 to proud parents, Walenty & Catherine Godek. From humble beginnings, Neysa experienced many childhood joys and overcame many trials of a time of war and economic depression.  She learned to appreciate all that she had rather than yearn for what she had not.  Neysa needed to leave school by grade 8 to help provide for her family.  In 1931, she married Silvio Comin and they raised their family with care and devotion.   She enjoyed nurturing her flower garden, cooking and baking, sewing and tending to the needs of others.  At the age of 45, Neysa overcame her education barrier and completed her education as a Nurses Aid, gaining employment at the local hospital and clinics.  She was a hard working, determined and self-reliant lady who made countless sacrifices over the years for the welfare of others.  Her selfless nature and boundless wisdom will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

   The family of late Neysa Comin wish to express their sincerest appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Crowsnest Pass Continuing Care Centre and York Creek Lodge for their compassionate care and assistance.  A special thank you to Sylvana Aschacher for the friendship and care given to Neysa. 

   Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life include her beloved children, Larry (Bev) Comin of Edson and Jenice Fumagalli of Bellevue; her cherished grandchildren, Tony Fumagalli of Blairmore, Laurie Fumagalli-Ryan of Edmonton, and Kim Keller of Florida; her precious great grandchildren, Lauren and Sydney; her devoted life long friend, Sylvana Aschacher; as well as her extended family and countless friends.

   She was predeceased by her husband, Silvio Comin; her parents, Walenty & Catherine Godek; her brother, Frank Godek; her daughter, Florence Keller; and her son-in-law, Tony Fumagalli Sr.

   Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.  Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the York Creek Lodge Residents’ Association (P.O. Box 1050, Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0).  The Graveside Service will be held at the later date.
