Welcome to the memorial page for

Kenneth Alexander Graf

November 9, 1938 ~ May 7, 2017 (age 78) 78 Years Old

It is with incredible sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Graf on May 7, 2017 at the Pincher Creek Health Centre.  He left this world surrounded by the love of his family at the age of 78 years.

Ken was born in New Westminster, BC on November 9, 1938 to proud parents, Joseph and Maria Graf.  Along with his brothers, Walter and Kurt, he grew up to be an industrious young man who never shied away from a challenge or a hard day's work.  When he moved to the Crowsnest Pass area, he met Evangeline Bohmer.  The happy couple married on April 4, 1964 and went on to raise five wonderful children.

Ken was a man with old-fashioned values and he never turned his back on someone in need.  He loved fixing things and was rarely seen without wrench in hand.  Ken also enjoyed watching hockey, especially the Calgary Flames.  Some of his happiest moments over the years were spent with the many animals he had at the farm, and he probably liked the peacocks more than he let on!  Although Ken was generally a quiet man, he loved to visit – provided it wasn’t on the phone.  More than anything, Ken adored his grandchildren.  From the time they were toddlers gripping his finger while going for a walk, or sitting on his knee helping him run equipment, to when they were old enough to work on projects with him, he was never more content than when spending time with them, or talking about their accomplishments.  Ken’s kind, gentle spirit will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life is his loving wife, Eva Graf; his devoted children, Rod (Bonnie) Graf of Drumheller, AB, Roy (Annette) Graf of Seven Persons, AB, Karen (Lorne) Dewart of Castor, AB, Kimberly (Al) Wilbee of Bayfield, ON and Robert (Carman) Graf of the MD of Pincher Creek, AB; his cherished grandchildren, Nathan, Rebecca, Rachel, Daniel, Amanda, Cole, Christina, Kameron, Chandler and Carley; his brothers-in-law, Gene Bohmer of Vancouver, BC, Albert Bohmer of Cranbrook, BC, Clyde ( Sherry) Bohmer of Hillcrest, AB, and Clarence (Joanie) Bohmer of Hillcrest, AB; his sisters-in-law, Wendy (Stan) Francis of Bellevue, AB, Cindy (Randal) Macdonald of Coaldale, AB and Bonnie Ginther of Coaldale, AB; his nephew, Terry (Bridget) Graf of Coleman, AB; his niece, Joanne (Joe) Trotz of Coleman, AB; his “foster son”, Wiley (Marcy) Purcha of Coleman, AB; his many friends at the Livingstone Colony – especially Eli, Jonathan and Gary; his beloved dog, Furby; as well as many others whose lives he touched.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Maria Graf; his brothers, Walter Graf and Kurt Graf; and his grandson, Alexander Graf.

With respect for Ken’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca, or 200 – 325, Manning Rd. NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2P5).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
