It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Bottrell on June 7, 2015 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre in Blairmore, AB. She was 71 years of age.
Judy was born on March 9, 1944 to proud parents, Pearl and James Stein in Toronto, Ontario. Along with her siblings, she was raised to appreciate friends and family and to enjoy life wholeheartedly. She grew into a loving, compassionate young lady who won the heart of Dwight Bottrell. The happy couple married and were blessed with two wonderful sons of their own.
Judy was a thoughtful and caring person. She made friends easily and her warmth and bright smile welcomed everyone she met. Unkind words never escaped Judy’s lips and she believed that everyone deserved a chance. She was also always willing to lend a hand, which was evident by the time she dedicated to volunteering at the local rodeo and other events, and by the many animals she rescued over the years. Judy’s horses, dogs and cats were a part of her family and she provided them with the best possible home. In her spare time, she also enjoyed many crafts and she attempted to master everything she put her hands to. Above all else, Judy loved her family and she treasured every moment spent with them. Judy’s generous, kind spirit will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
She is survived by her sons, Steve & Dwight Bottrell of Burmis, AB; her siblings, Jim (Pat) Stein of North Bay, ON, Diana Thompson of Calgary, AB, Tom (Denise) Stein of Mississauga, ON & Cathy Stuart of Calgary, AB; as well as the countless friends she made throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dwight Bottrell and her sister-in-law, Marylyn.
With respect for Judy’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. Donations in memory of Judy will be gratefully accepted by the Canadian Cancer Society
