It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jozef Pakla of Blairmore, AB on August 11, 2016 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre. He was 90 years of age.
Jozef was born on November 21, 1925 in Poland where he later married his beloved wife, Maria. In 1965 Jozef & Maria, along with their children, journeyed to the Crowsnest Pass where they called home. Dad worked as a coalminer.
Jozef was a great dad, grandpa & great grandpa. Dad had a green thumb, he loved to plant his garden & look at all his flowers. He also loved to go to the forest to pick mushrooms. Jozef also enjoyed walks with his wife & going for coffee at the local restaurants. He loved to see all of his grandchildren come to visit.
Left to mourn his passing & celebrate his life are his four children: daughter, Mary (John) Reid of Blairmore, AB; son, Richard (Francine) Pakla of Kelowna, BC; daughter, Teresa (Max) McLain of Blairmore, AB; and daughter, Angela (Ken) Jurouloff of Hillcrest, AB; his 19 grandchildren, Raymond, Paul & Danielle Reid, Adam, Ricki, Steven, & Tanya Pakla, Amanda, Victoria, Hanna Selena, & Daniel McLain, Nathan & Lindzey Jurouloff, Angela, Eric, Jason, Joey & Samantha Harder; his 20 great grandchildren; his niece, Helen (John) Zajac of Lethbridge, AB; his nephew, Henry (Nonita) Smolik of Edmonton, AB; as well as his two best furry friends, Boots & Wee Wee who always kept his feet warm.
Jozef was predeceased by his wife, Maria; his daughter, Christine; his parents John & Maria Pakla; and his sister Susan Smolik.
The Prayer Service will be held at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Bairmore, AB on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 8:00pm with Deacon Renso Castellarin officiating, and the Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Blairmore, AB on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11:00am with Fr. Ben Marino as Celebrant. Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Holy Trinity Church Building Fund (P. O. Box 1410, Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0).
