Jeanne (Lapointe) Legroulx

May 28, 1925 ~ September 10, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years Old


   It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeanne Legroulx on September 10, 2017 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre, Blairmore, AB.  She graced this world with 92 years of life.

   Jeanne was born in Burlington, VT on May 28, 1925 to loving parents Albert and Laura Lapointe, and was raised in Alexandria, ON.  As a young woman, she met and fell in love with Larry Legroulx, and the happy couple wed on June 26, 1946.  In 1951, they relocated to Edmonton, AB and remained there until October 2000 when they moved to the Crowsnest Pass.

   When she wasn't busy taking care of her home, Jeanne enjoyed reading, baking and creating beautiful needlepoint and knitting projects.  She was well known for her caring, giving spirit, and never failed to be there for her family and friends.  Jeanne was the heart of her family and an inspiration to all who knew her.  She will be deeply missed.

   Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her sons, Claude (Bev) Legroulx of Coleman, AB and Marcel (Penny) Legroulx of Edmonton, AB; her grandchildren, Jesse (Lindsay) Legroulx, Ryan (Billie-Jo) Legroulx, Dion (Elsa) Legroulx, Marc (Aubrey) Legroulx, Sheri (Mark) Arnold, Michelle McDougall, Danielle Alasaad and Les Vandervlugt; her great grandchildren, Jairo, Jade, Chase, Emmy, Elliana, Evaya, Ezleah, Lucas, Morrison, Anthony, Ethan, Duncan, Dekker, Hayley and Lucien; her brother, Joseph Roland Lapointe of Windsor, ON; her devoted companion, Bill Bohmer; her loving niece, Pearl St. Pierre; her extended family, numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

   She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Legroulx; her parents, Laura and Albert Lapointe; and her brothers, Paul and Donat Lapointe.

   The Memorial Service honoring Jeanne’s life will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Fantin’s Funeral Chapel (13661 – 20 Ave., Blairmore, AB) with Pastor Al Robinson officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted by the York Creek Lodge Residents Association (P. O. Box 1050, Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
