Welcome to the memorial page for

Jadwiga Hanna (Jedrys) Wisniewska

December 23, 1937 ~ June 2, 2017 (age 79) 79 Years Old

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jadwiga Wisniewska of Coleman, AB at the Crowsnest Continuing Care Centre, Blairmore, AB after a courageous battle with illness.  She was called to be with the Lord on June 2, 2017 at the age of 79 years.

Jadwiga was born on December 23, 1937 in Warsaw Poland to proud parents, Waclaw and Natalia Jedrys.  Along with her sisters, she was raised to treasure family and to be loyal to those you love.  As a young woman, she met and fell in love with Janusz Wisniewski, and the couple married on May 28, 1958.  They moved their family to Canada on April 12, 1979.

Jadwiga was an excellent cook, as anyone who tasted her cabbage rolls or famous Polish Tort could tell you.  In her free time, she enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Dancing With the Stars.  Jadwiga’s true love was her family, especially her grandchildren, and she cherished every moment spent with them.  She will live on in precious memories.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her sons, Jacek (Monica) Wisniewski of Coleman, AB and Krzysztof (Shirley) Wisniewski of Elkford, BC; her daughter, Ann (Terry) Tymchyna of Leduc, AB; her grandchildren, Eva, Derek, Colby, Jennifer (Ryan), Matthew, Mark (Jennifer) and Greg (Ainsley); her great grandchildren, Avery, Taylor, Reid, Natalie and Ellie; her sister, Maria (Ginter) Siegel of Germany; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family; as well as the many friends she made throughout her life.

She was predeceased by her husband, Janusz; her parents, Waclaw and Natalia Jedrys; her grandson, Ryan Wisniewski; and her sister, Zofia Filipek.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church (13126-21 Ave, Blairmore, AB) with Fr. Ben Marino as Celebrant.  Interment will follow at the Coleman Union Cemetery.  Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca), or the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church Building Fund (P. O. Box 1410, Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfunerachapel.ca.
