Herman "Wes" Weston Collings

   It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Herman “Wes” Collings of Coleman, AB at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre on March 25, 2017.  He was blessed with 87 years of life.

   Wes was born on March 14, 1930 in Coleman, AB to loving parents, Weston and Mary Collings.  He matured into a robust, vigorous young man who knew the value of an honest day’s work and who appreciated all the opportunities life had to offer.

   In his younger days, Wes loved to dance and went horseback riding as often as possible, while throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing and was an avid sheep and elk hunter.  Blessed with a great memory, Wes was a wonderful storyteller who always captivated and entertained with his tales.  More than anything, Wes treasured his family, and he was never happier than when spending time with them.  He was a kindhearted, sincere man who was loved and respected by many – he will be missed.

   Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life are his devoted sons, Michael Collings of Calgary, AB, Jake (Cyd) Collings of Coleman, AB and Robert Collings of Cochrane, AB; his precious grandchildren, Jolayne, Leta, Hannah and Christopher; his dear brother, Ron (Doreen) Collings of Coleman, AB; and his cherished niece, Catherine Cherlenko.

   He was predeceased by his beloved sister, Hazel Davey.
