Henderika "Ria" Trientje (Douma) Suchar

August 18, 1923 ~ November 27, 2015 (age 92) 92 Years Old

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ria Suchar at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre on November 27, 2015 at the age of 92 years.

Ria was born in Groningen, Holland on August 18, 1923 to proud parents Margaretha and Douwe Douma.  She was raised to cherish family and friends and to appreciate all the blessings that life gives you.

When not busy taking care of her family or working at the Crowsnest Pass Hospital as a housekeeping supervisor, Ria enjoyed spending time playing bingo and crocheting.  She was a wonderful, kind lady whose warm smile and loving nature will be missed by all who knew her.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her beloved husband, Bill Suchar of Hillcrest, AB; her daughter-in-law, Judy Pinel of Crowsnest Pass, AB; her son-in-law, Ed Aanestad of Lethbridge, AB; her grandchildren, Kelly (Dawn) Pinel, Tracy (Mike) Chodyka and Kevin (Stacey) Aanestad; her great grandchildren, Kelsey Pinel, Darrien Pinel, Kyla Penner, Hunter Chodyka, Brett Aanestad and Lacey Aanestad; as well as the many friends she made throughout her life.

She was predeceased by her parents, Margaretha and Douwe Douma; her son, John Pinel of Pincher Creek, AB; her daughter, Claira Aanestad of Crowsnest Pass, AB; and her brother in Holland.

By request of the family, no funeral service will be held.  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.  Donations in memory of Ria will be gratefully accepted by the Canadian Diabetes Association (204, 2323 – 32 Ave. NE, Calgary, AB T2E 6Z3) or the Canadian Cancer Society (P.
