Welcome to the memorial page for

Harold Garfield Pepper

December 8, 1939 ~ January 20, 2016 (age 76) 76 Years Old

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and brother, Harold Garfield Pepper on January 20, 2016 at the age of 76 years.

Harold was born on December 8, 1939 in Princeton, BC.  He came to the Crowsnest Pass when he was seven years old, and remained here throughout his entire life.  As a young man, Harold worked at the Burmis Saw Mill before moving on to the Balmer North underground coalmine in 1957 where he was employed until their closing in 1986.  On June 29, 1967, Harold married the love of his life, Yvonne Cerney.  The happy couple was later blessed with three lovely children and countless wonderful memories.  Until his retirement in 1998, Harold provided for his family by working for such coalmining companies as BC Coal, Keiser Resources, Westar and Teck.

In his free time, Harold, or “Bumpy” as he was affectionately known, enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking.  He also found great pleasure watching a wide variety of sports, especially hockey.  Harold was a hardworking, dedicated man who will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life are his children, Gary (Beverley) Pepper of Frank, AB and Denise (Sheldon) Marshall of Stirling, AB; his grandchildren, Chris, Tiffany and Travis all of Lethbridge, AB; as well as his extended family.

He was predeceased by is wife, Yvonne; his parents, Isabelle and Stanley Pepper; his daughter, Lynette Pepper; and his mother-in-law, Betsey Cerney.

With respect for Harold’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Crowsnest Pass S.P.C.A. (P. O. Box 725, Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
