Florence “Flo” Parker, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at the Crownest Pass Health Care Centre on June 17th, 2017 at the glorious age of 96 years.
Florence was born in Port Hope, Ontario on June 30, 1920 to proud parents, Elizabeth Jane and William Walsh. She was the second youngest of thirteen children.
Florence married Matt Parker and they were blessed with one daughter, Ann. Florence loved to go camping and fishing with her family. She also enjoyed playing darts and arranged many dart tournaments at the Bellevue Legion where she was a proud member and dedicated volunteer.
After her husband, Matt’s passing in 1966, Florence started working at the Crowsnest Pass Hospital and remained there until her retirement in 1985. She often recalled the good friends she made and good times she had while working there.
Family was the most important part of her life and she treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also cared deeply for all the pets she had over the years and loved daily walks with her dog to Fireman’s Park when she lived up Dairy Road in Bellevue. Florence was a kind and generous person who will be missed by her family and friends, but she will remain in their hearts forever.
Florence is survived her daughter and son in law, Ann and Vic Kibala; two grandchildren, Cody (Jaylene) Kibala and Keely (Laina) Kibala; two great grandchildren, Jake and Sophia; as well as many nieces and nephews including very special niece, Gayle (Ted) Buck of Port Hope, Ontario.
She was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth Jane and William Walsh; all of her siblings; and her husband, Matthew Parker.
