Welcome to the memorial page for

Florence Martha (Berger) Grahn

November 24, 1937 ~ April 4, 2016 (age 78) 78 Years Old

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Flo Grahn on April 4, 2016 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre.  She was 78 years old.

Flo relocated to the Crowsnest Pass with her husband, Romeo in late 2000.  Together they enjoyed retirement in the beauty of the area until Romeo’s passing in 2006.  Flo remained there and continued to be an important member of the community.

Flo was a social butterfly.  In her younger days, she was the manager of a bowling alley and pool hall, and it was the perfect stage for her to showcase her love for people.  Later in life, Flo frequented the “Poker Stars” website.  She never spent a cent on gambling, but she sure enjoyed interacting with her online poker friends.  Flo was a loving mother and grandmother, and was completely devoted to her family.  Whether it be spending time with them, or baking them the world’s best peanut butter cookies, pumpkin or apple pie, her unconditional love could be felt in all she did.  Also, many happy times were had while camping and sitting around the campfire roasting hot dogs and marshmallows.  Flo’s kindness and grace will be greatly missed and forever remembered by everyone who had the good fortune to know her.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her beloved sons, Daryll Grahn of Blairmore, AB and Brian (Barb) Grahn of Sherwood Park, AB; her precious granddaughters, Kelsey, Kayley and Jennifer; her brother, Stan (Carole) Berger of Red Deer, AB; her sisters-in-law, Jean (George) Crowhurst of Ponoka, AB and Irene Metzner of Edmonton, AB; her nephews and nieces, Aaron, Bryce, Wendla and Janine; her special friend, Sharon Paton; and all her friends and staff at the York Creek Lodge and Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre.

She was predeceased by her husband, Romeo; her son, Allan; and her brother, Elmer.

With respect for Flo’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.  Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the York Creek Lodge Residents Association (P. O. Box 1050, Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
