Emma Louise (Lengyel) Livingston

   It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Emma Livingston at the Crowsnest Continuing Care Centre, Blairmore, AB on April 2, 2017.  She was blessed with 87 years of life.

   Emma was born on August 14, 1929 in Wakaw, SK.  Along with her sister, Elizabeth, she was raised in a warm, nurturing home by her parents, Steve and Julia Lengyel, which allowed her to blossom into a thoughtful, bright young woman.  Her loveliness and zest for life attracted the attention of Henry Livingston, and happy wed on October 5, 1952.  Together, they raised a beautiful family and created countless wonderful memories.

   In her free time, Emma expressed herself through painting and writing poetry, and she also enjoyed sewing and playing darts and other games.  Her kindness and dedication to others was evident through her involvement with the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary Branch 9, Coleman, as well as through her volunteer work at various organizations.  Emma’s love of service continued well into her life, as illustrated by her organization of and participation in many events at the York Creek Lodge.  Her benevolent, passionate spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all those whose lives she touched. 

   Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her devoted children, Blair (Carol) Livingston of Kinistino, SK, Guy (Shirley) Livingston of Coleman, AB, Zola (Tony) Tuckwood of Lundbreck, AB and Kim Livingston of Rocky Mountain House, AB; her precious grandchildren, Derek (Mandi), Tanja (Ryan), Trent, Shae (Kayla), Allison (Skylar), Desmond (Kristin), Denise and Clayton; her cherished great grandchildren, Melynn, Wade, Ava, Fiona, Harrison, Callista, Jaxon, Hawksley and Blake; her dear sister, Elizabeth of Middle Lake, SK; as well as many friends.

   She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Livingston; her parents, Steve and Julia Lengyel; her daughter-in-law, Sandy Livingston of Rocky Mountain House, AB; and her grandson, Mark Arcand of Coleman, AB.

   The Memorial Service honoring Emma will be held at Fantin’s Funeral Chapel (13461 - 20 Ave., Blairmore, AB) on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Janni Belgum officiating.  Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by Alzheimer Society Canada (www.alzheimer.ca, or #402 – 740, 4 Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB T1J 0N9).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
