Chalena Lynn (Duff) Ashton

   It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Chalena Ashton of Coleman, AB on August 23, 2016 at the age of 39 years.

   Chalena was born on September 7, 1976 in Blairmore, AB to proud and loving parents, Robert “Scotty” and Neva Duff.  Along with her brother, Mike, she was taught to appreciate family, friends and all of life’s blessings.  Even when faced with the many challenges and hardships that came with her illness, Multiple Sclerosis, Chalena did her best to remember those lessons.  On June 24, 1995, she married the love of her life, Jarvie Ashton.  Together, they raised two amazing sons, Levi and Colten, and made wonderful memories.

   Chalena loved the outdoors and never missed the opportunity to get out and enjoy nature.  Whether it was hunting, or riding in the side by side with Jarvie and their dog, Kalia, she embraced the freedom and happiness it brought her.  More than anything, Chalena adored her family and friends, and she was devoted to them all.  Everyone who was fortunate enough to know her will miss her kind, determined spirit. 

   Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life is her beloved husband, Jarvie Ashton of Coleman, AB; her cherished sons, Levi and Colten Ashton of Coleman, AB; her mother, Neva Duff of Blairmore, AB; her father, Robert “Scotty” Duff of St. Paul, AB; and her brother, Mike (Kelley Strey) Duff of Magrath, AB.

   A private family service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Chalena will be gratefully accepted by the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada (www.mssociety.ca).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
